Goals for the 2nd Half:
Varsity Boys: At this point our 1-2 runners seem to be running as good as anybody in the State. Our task is to get our 3-7 runners closer to them. Our gap between 2-3 at best was 21 sec, last week it slipped to 41 sec. To show how that extra 20 sec gap impacts a team, if it were 21 sec at Dave Sanders, we score 29 to Creek's 55. For us to be able to have any chance against Vista or Monarch, those 3-5 runners need to close the gap to 20 sec or less!
JV Boys - Our 1-7 pack of JV is as sold as anyone's except Vista. Our goal is to keep running races where those 1-5 stay within 25-30 sec as we've done before and push the pack closer to the front of those JV races.
Varsity Girls: At the begining of the year it looked like an uphill battle to be the 4th (final state qualifying team), in our Region. But with the vast improvement of many of our girls, we could be on track to finish as high as 2nd in our Region. With the return of Bailee and continued improvement of runners 3-7, a top 10 finish at state is well within our grasp.
JV Girls - As shown by their win at Arapahoe, our girls are a very solid JV Team. Some newcomers went to the next level at Columbine and will make us even stronger down the stretch. Just like the JV Boys, our strength is the close 1-5 gap that we've have.
